INTRANET/EXTRANET PROGRAMMING & DESIGN

An intranet is a private network within an organization that often has firewalls that inhibit outside access. These are valuable for inter-organizational communication and can be set up to connect multiple worksites. Intranets usually require a company-based server.

An extranet is more or less a private, password-protected site with limited access. Extranets may be used in countless ways, including project and case management, scheduling, and inventory control.
